Renovation of a seismic station in Venezuela
As part of a framework contract, our customer had expressed the need to modernize the power supply system at its seismic station in Venezuela, in response to recurring problems of power cuts and degradation of the backup battery.
Enviroearth therefore proposed a solution including the design and installation of a hybrid system, combining photovoltaic power with an electricity source and back-up batteries.
This system had to meet the station's daily energy requirements (4,695 Wh/day) with AC and DC outputs, while ensuring autonomy of 3 to 5 days in the event of prolonged AC power cuts and lack of sunlight. To guarantee optimum management, intelligent components have been integrated to automatically prioritize and switch between different energy sources and the battery, as required.
In the heart of the Venezuelan jungle, our team carried out civil engineering work, including fencing the station, cleaning the boreholes and refurbishing the control center.
