Deployment of a hybrid solar power plant in Sao Tome and Principe

In March 2024, our team contributed to the installation of a hybrid solar power plant (88 kWp; 100 kWh) to reinforce the electricity grid, designed to power the offices of four government agencies.

These agencies, including the Ministry of Infrastructure and Natural Resources (MIRN), the Directorate of the Environment (DGA), the National Civil Engineering Laboratory (LNECSTP), and the Directorate General of Natural Resources and the Environment (DGRNE), were looking to reduce their energy costs while ensuring autonomy in the event of grid failure. We also undertook to provide reliable after-sales service for this project.

Major challenges

The project took place against a backdrop of numerous technical challenges. Extreme climatic conditions, combined with the frequent risk of flooding typical of the equatorial climate, posed major obstacles. In addition, the island's geographical isolation considerably complicated logistics, particularly with regard to the delivery of the necessary equipment.

For this project, Enviroearth managed the project management, supplied and installed the equipment on site, managed the site preparation and civil engineering work, and installed the carport.
