Installation of electric vehicle charging stations in Apia, Samoa

Enviroearth has won a tender on behalf of a UN agency to install electric vehicle (EV) charging stations powered by renewable energies. This innovative project combines a solar installation with grid-connected batteries, creating an exemplary model for the ecological transition in this region. As part of the IMPRESS project, a locally manufactured solar carport was installed, enabling members of the local UNDP and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE) to recharge their electric vehicles.

The project involved a 10-day on-site mission to create a showcase project, with the aim of encouraging and promoting such initiatives across the island.

For this project, Enviroearth supplied the solar panels as well as the structure; the electronic equipment; the recharging station and will provide maintenance for a three-year period.
