Installation of Solar Power Plants for Self-Consumption in the Maldives

This project was awarded in 2020 through a tender for an international agency aimed at installing solar power plants on the rooftops of three hospitals in the Maldives.

The hospitals that benefited from these solar plants are:

  • Alif Ali F. Atoll Hospital, Nilandhoo with a 40.5 kWp solar power plant installed on the roof.

  • F. Atoll Hospital, Rasdhoo with a 40.5 kWp solar power plant installed on the roof.

  • Addu Regional Hospital, Hithadhoo with an 80 kWp solar power plant installed on the roof.

The main objective of this project was to reduce the share of electricity consumption from conventional sources and lower greenhouse gas emissions.

Enviroearth's mission consisted of supplying and installing 3 hybrid solar systems made up of photovoltaic modules and Lithium-Ion battery banks, connected to the existing diesel generator.

The project included:

  • Needs assessment and site survey

  • Civil engineering works by a local partner, including roofing

  • Installation of photovoltaic panels

  • Integration and factory testing

  • International and local logistics

  • On-site installation and commissioning

  • Training

  • Maintenance contract
