Installation of a stand-alone photovoltaic solar power plant for the village of Mont Organisé
Haiti is currently one of the least developed countries in the world, and the poorest on the American continent. They face a lack of infrastructure and access to most basic needs.
To tackle these issues, UNDP funded a project for the electrification of 3 remote villages in the north-west of Haiti with solar hybrid systems, allowing for the development of the economy and services in this area.
Enviroearth is currently working on the installation of a system for one of these villages.
The solar hybrid system has been sized and designed by Enviroearth according to a UN report about the predicted consumptions of the village. It will be connected to the minigrids previously
installed in the village.
In order to best cope with the requirements of UNDP in terms of local development, most of the manpower for this project have been recruited among the local population (especially women), and a maximum of materials needed for the works has been bought locally.
Enviroearth's mission was to supply and install a solar hybrid system 280kWp PV hybrid solar system, a 1MWh lead-acid battery bank and a diesel generator.
The project includes:
- Needs assessment and site survey site survey
- Civil works by a local partner
- Construction of 2 power plants (solar system and generator)
- Construction of structures for modules
- Fencing of solar field
- Factory integration and testing of solar generator
- International and local logistics
- On-site installation Commissioning and training
- Maintenance contract
