Supply and Installation of a Noise Reduction System (WNRS) for an Infrasound Station
France is an active member of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty. The Atomic Energy Commission (CEA), as the National Data Center, is responsible for the construction and maintenance of French geophysical stations, including those dedicated to infrasound. The station located in Guadeloupe allows France to become the first country to operationalize its network of infrasound stations as part of the international network.
Enviroearth, a French specialist in infrasound, also participated in this project. The station in Guadeloupe was installed in a national park, benefiting from an ideal environment for signal quality due to the dense and silent tropical rainforest. The challenge for the companies involved was to provide equipment and services suitable for this protected environment.
This project involved the construction of a state-of-the-art infrasound station consisting of 9 sites, all with the same design:
1 Wind Noise Reduction System (WNRS)
1 reference system
2 microbarometer sensors
1 digitizer
1 communication device
1 power supply
1 security device and fencing
