Recapitalization of communications and power supply for CRF and remote elements in the Azores

The project was carried out as part of a framework agreement with a UN client, concerning the renovation and improvement of two remote geophysical stations and their respective data centers located in the Azores. This mission extended over a period of three weeks.

The main objective was to ensure the modernization of geophysical infrastructures to improve the reliability and sustainability of remote monitoring systems.

On-site missions:

  • Complete renovation of remote stations: The geophysical stations were renovated and now operate exclusively on solar energy, ensuring energy autonomy and a reduced ecological footprint.

  • Update of intrasite radio communication systems: A new radio communication system was installed, improving the quality and reliability of data exchanges between the stations and the data centers.

  • Installation and renovation of data centers: Each data center was modernized to ensure optimized processing and storage of data from the geophysical stations.

  • Installation of backup battery systems: To ensure continuity of service, backup battery systems were installed in each data center, guaranteeing the availability of the infrastructure in the event of a power outage.

The stations are now fully operational and modernized, offering more reliable data flow management. Thanks to solar energy and backup systems, the operation of the stations is more sustainable and secure.
