Renovation of a radio communication system, Australia, 2024

Our team mobilized to take up a major challenge: a 40-day mission in the desert, covering 33 sites to be visited and 2 teams working in relays in the field. The aim of this mission was to modernize the intra-site radio communications system of the seismic and infrasound stations already installed, which are essential for measuring and detecting geophysical phenomena across the globe.

Our team designed and installed new communication cabinets, as well as replacing all antennas and radio modems at each of the 33 sites. Most of the equipment was installed by our team at height, sometimes in excess of 25m, followed by all the electrical cabling. The installation of this heavy and delicate equipment required rigorous organization, great precision and a mastery of working at height techniques.

Logistics in Australia proved particularly complex due to strict import regulations, involving numerous administrative formalities and meticulous adjustments to equipment packaging.
