Installation and replacement of infrasound equipment at an existing station in Germany
In the heart of Germany's Bavarian National Park, a team of four engineers and electrical technicians was deployed to replace damaged equipment. A preliminary study had revealed corrosion and obsolescence problems affecting the existing systems, requiring urgent intervention.
The team intervened on the eight sites concerned, where a major clearance operation was carried out first. The infrasound systems, covered by the surrounding vegetation, had to be unclogged before any further work could be carried out. Once these steps had been completed, the faulty equipment was replaced, and repairs were made to the leaks detected on these systems, which were over 15 years old. Over 768 IPs (Inlet Ports) on the 8 reference systems were replaced.
The mission concluded with a series of pressure tests on the infrasound systems, restoring their full functionality.
